Is it Giving Princess?

ALL PHOTOS SHOT BY LEILA #SHOTBYLEILS

So I am typing with this with so much joy because…it’s my birthday! Commemorating 27 has been such a beautiful experience and I am so grateful to God for the love He is placed all around me in the form of family and friends. This year, I chose to celebrate by visiting Hampton Court Palace - where King Henry VIII lived and also a few scenes from Bridgerton were filmed (purr)! Over the years I’ve found that visiting castles is something I love to do especially for my birthday and honestly, I’m not mad at it.

Planning this outfit was so much fun! Once I saw this gorgeous dress made by Ibilola Ogundipe back in November, I fell in love. And dare I say, it inspired the entire visit to HCP in the first place! It is such a well-crafted and well-sculpted dress and I felt like a princess wearing it.

not the rain trynna be an enemy of progress!

I decided to style it with white and gold accessories to brighten the outfit and maintain a sense of elegance and class.

I also got the opportunity to work with Leila again! She is such a G and worked so quickly to get these photos taken because guys when I say it was freezing, it was FREEZING (more on that below). Somehow we made it work and I’m so grateful she was able to capture this moment in time.

All the planning that went into this look was honestly worth it and I had the best time piecing it together over the past few months. I am so grateful to be able to mark 27 years of life - a true testament of God’s faithfulness and lovingkindness. So here’s to many more years of celebrations and well-curated ‘fits (ha)!

So like I said before, it was genuinely FREEZING during this shoot. Truthfully, I knew it would be cloudy with a chance of rain but I did not expect it to be that cold. I guess it’s a lesson to be a lot more thorough when it comes to analysing the weather changes and what that would mean for my outfit options on any given day. I don’t think I did that as well as I could’ve on this day but we live and we learn.

Regardless, I still layered up by wearing a cardigan and my brown puffer jacket I love so dearly. I wore leg thermals underneath my dress but made the wrong call when it came to fortifying my feet. I should’ve worn socks and trainers but instead opted for some sparkly slides - pretty but impractical 😂

Overall, I was not affected too badly by the weather changes and was thankful that God brought the sun out later on, rainbow in tow and everything!
